Our homes are bespoke, because you are unique
Whether your dream is an open plan kitchen-diner or a modern sun-lounge with bi-folding patio doors, we can make it happen. But first we need to get to know you, so we can fully understand your vision for your perfect home.
We love making friends with our customers. Our approach is to develop honest, amicable relationships - and to lavish care and attention on the building process to achieve the results you’re dreaming of.
A quality home doesn't just happen
Each one of our properties is built to the highest standards, using high-quality materials and exceptional levels of craftsmanship. We take great care in sourcing the best - from timber frame to bathroom tiles, we use materials that will meet and surpass your highest expectations.
Sustainable and efficient
By incorporating the latest thinking in design and technology, we create homes which are economical to heat and great for the environment – we even carry out our own air permeability leakage tests to ensure top performance. All Colaren windows and doors come with a ten-year guarantee (excluding the glass itself, which has a five-year guarantee), and naturally all our houses benefit from a ten-year insurance plan.
Our helpful step-by-step guide
The journey to owning your new Colaren home
Getting your finances in place
The very first step when looking at purchasing a new home is to check how much you can borrow. Work out how much of a deposit you might need for the mortgage, and then get one agreed in principle. To help you we’ve teamed up with Focus Financial, who can arrange all aspects of your house purchase in just four easy steps.
Choose the home and location you want
Now it's time to choose your preferred development and explore the various house types available. Once you’ve found a home you’re happy with, contact our sales team, who will help you through the next few steps. Your Colaren Sales Consultant will be happy to discuss any aspect of the individual home, the development and the Colaren service before you make the final decision to buy.
Reserve with just £500
You can reserve your home with Colaren for as little as £500*. At this stage you’ll need a solicitor to act on your behalf - if you don’t already have one, we can put you in touch with a reputable local firm.
Finalising the sale
Your solicitor will take care of this for you. The term “missives” in Scottish conveyancing practice means a series of letters between solicitors, on behalf of their clients, which constitutes the contract between seller and buyer. At this stage a 5% deposit of the purchase price is required.
Designing your unique spaces
This is where you start personalising your new living space and making it unique. Consulting with you and working with our partners, Laings Kitchen & Bathrooms, we’ll design a unique kitchen and personalised bathrooms, just for you. Our goal is to give you a home that truly fits your lifestyle – that's why we always encourage our clients to get involved in their build.
Finalising your Colaren home
This is when all internal and external designs are finalised and costed for your approval.
You should be aware that all options – whether included in the house price or quoted separately – are subject to the stage of construction when specified. That’s why we take the time to sit with you and go over the finer details of your future build before sign-off and the start of construction.
Your build begins
This is when you can sit back and relax, knowing that the construction of your new home is in the safest of hands. We'll keep you informed of progress until the day you move in –with a full and friendly after-sales service thereafter.
The keys to your new home
The moment you've been waiting for. This is when you receive the keys to your newly finished Colaren home – along with a 'Welcome home' pack with all the information you might need.
